Travel to Puerto Montt on a Patagonia Tour

If you're looking for a truly spectacular trip, consider booking a Patagonia tour through areas like Puerto Montt. This Chilean port city began its history in February of 1853 with German colonization. As the jewel of Chile, the commune continued to grow with the introduction of a railway in 1912. This railway brought more people through Puerto Montt than ever before, and with the passage of so many people, word of mouth spread about the beauty of Puerto Montt and its many wonders. More and more people felt the desire to come visit Patagonia, and today, the strong tourism industry continues.

Below are a few of the often-mentioned spectacles of nature that you can expect to encounter on your Patagonia tour:

The Alerce Andino National Park is one of Chile’s natural heritages. The alerce trees you can find here have a life span of around 4,000 years and its wood never rots. Walking through the many forests of the Puerto Montt area is sort like treasure hunting - you never know when a lake, stream, or lagoon will appear for your pleasure as you enjoy your outing. You may even spot a Chilean deer (pudú), a fox, or maybe even a cougar. You will also see the many species of birds found in that area, such as the kingfisher, the black-bodied woodpecker, Harris Hawk, and many others. Take a hike or ride your bike on the many trails available in the surrounding areas and see all the beautiful wonders that Puerto Montt, in Chilean Patagonia, has to offer.

There are also many other adventurous things to do in here many different forms. For example, try fly-fishing, white-water rafting, mountain climbing, windsurfing or surfing, and horseback trips. You can also go on ferry cruises to see the Chilean Fjords, visit a dead volcano (Beta Mahuida) that has a lagoon in its crater, go snowshoeing, snowboarding, and skiing. Enjoy winter at its best from June to October!

Of course, these are only a few of the fun and exciting things you can see and do, so book your trip and come enjoy the wonders of Puerto Montt, Patagonia.
