See Perito Moreno and Upsala Amidst the Patagonia Glaciers

Over 356 glaciers make up the landscape of Los Glaciares National Park in Patagonia, Argentina, and when you take a Patagonia tour with Navimag, you will get the chance to see these natural wonders firsthand. These beautiful treasures cover nearly 1.5 million acres of protected area located in the province of Santa Cruz and less than 50 miles away from the small village of El Calafate, which sits near Lake Argentino. Travelers wishing to visit the Patagonia glaciers and the national park can begin their journey in the village, where buses and tour groups then travel on to the destination.

One of the largest and most famous of the Patagonia glaciers is the Perito Moreno. This colossal ice structure is over 180 feet high (above water level) and four miles across at its front. At one point it was known for its amazing "rupture" process, where the front of the glacier would slam up against the coastline and create walls of water nearly 20 feet high.

Perito Moreno is not the only giant glacier worth checking out. The Upsala glacier is a thick "tongue" of ice and rock over 31 miles long and over 6 miles wide. It has a thick strip of rocks, clay, and sand running down its center created by two great ice structures converging long ago. To view the Upsala glacier, visitors must take a boat tour to the Estancia Cristina viewing area.

Visitors to the national park can do more than just see Perito Moreno and Upsala, of course. They can also trek across the frozen expanse and see the constantly moving and shifting smaller glaciers under their feet. They can also stop and marvel at the many other natural wonders of the area. The trek to the park goes through areas abundant with wildlife of both the animal and plant variety.

Fly Fishing Patagonia Adventures

Perhaps you are used to those dainty old fish in your local lakes and ponds, but when you come down to Patagonia you are in for a real treat. The fish are amazingly huge, providing you with a hefty meal you can feast off of for a couple of days, or simply cast back into the waters if you choose. Fly fishing Patagonia adventures should definitely be added to your list of things to do for your vacation.
If you are new to the sport of fly fishing, here are a few pointers that will have you playing the game like a pro in no time!
The whole objective of fly fishing is to catch fish using artificial bug bait. Although the bait is made out of yarn, feathers, wires, and beads they do a pretty good job of pulling of the look of an insect. Especially if you aren't looking too closely, it's easy to be fooled into thinking that this little artificial critter is real, now all you have to do is trick your catch into believing it.
To make your fly fishing Patagonia adventures go by smoothly, you just need a tad bit of planning:
·         Narrow done the type of fish that you want to catch or fish that are commonly found in this region.
·         Know where they are most likely to be at, let's use the trout for example. Trout are coldwater fish that will only be found in lakes, rivers, and ponds. So if you are looking for Trout these are areas that you should be targeting.
·         Learn what types of foods the fish that you are going for eat and pick artificial bait from the store that resembles this insect.
·         When attempting to lure your catch in, try not to be so obvious. Have your bait approach your fish in the most natural lifelike way that you can.
